Jenny was 11 when her mom died of cancer. The first year was hard, but her dad treated her lovingly and they had each other to get through things. However, by the time Jenny was 13, she had started to gain a lot of weight, and her dad had started staying out late after work and coming home very drunk.

Things first started off with Jenny's dad mentally abusing her. He would come home drunk, then start telling her how fat and ugly she was, and that no one would ever love her except for him. Soon, he started becoming physically abusive. If she did not have food ready on time, or failed to do even the smallest chore before he got home, he would hit her as well as verbally abuse her.
